Samenwerken met Hoogerwerf – Interieurontwerper Jelena vertelt haar ervaring!
Jelena, who are you and what do you do?
My name is Jelena Hilgers, and I graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam in 2009. Since then, I have worked with great passion and enthusiasm as an interior architect for various companies, where I have worked on both larger and smaller projects. For example, I have transformed empty office buildings into hotels and conceived and developed a complete retail concept.
After years of working for various interior design companies, I decided this year to start my own interior design agency. A business of my own to help private and business clients redesign their homes or work environments. While many people find it difficult to combine the right furniture, colors, and materials, I view it as a tremendously enjoyable process in which you can creatively combine these elements.
I create my designs using professional design software that allows you to produce the most beautiful animations. This gives clients a realistic idea of what the space will look like. Thanks to my passion, experience, insight, and familiarity with materials and colors, I can turn any space into something beautiful.
How do you work with Hoogerwerf, and what is that like for you?
By entering into a collaboration with Hoogerwerf, I get multiple opportunities to work on beautiful projects. This combination—me as designer and Hoogerwerf as supplier and project manager—works very well for me. They are responsible for the execution, and I for the design.
What is different about working with Hoogerwerf?
Currently, I work with several project interior designers such as Hoogerwerf, but thanks to my past with Hoogerwerf, we know each other’s strengths. Having worked together on a number of large projects, we are well attuned to one another.
Where does collaboration start in a new project, what do you do, and what does Hoogerwerf do?
Every project starts with an inventory and analysis. This ultimately results in an interior concept. Once the concept is ready, I discuss the plan with Hoogerwerf, and together we look at what we can do for the client. Together with the client, we assemble a construction team, the design is realized, and everything is executed according to plan. Even after the project is completed, we remain available to answer questions and address any finishing touches.
Which project that you did together with Hoogerwerf are you most proud of?
That is the Maaskoepel project in Rotterdam. The workplace has changed due to the development of hybrid working. The challenge in this process was therefore to get people back to the office. Meeting and collaborating were central, and the building had to become the beating heart of the organization. Together with Remco and the rest of the Hoogerwerf team, we designed a beautiful meeting place for the people of the Maaskoepel.
How would you describe working with Hoogerwerf?
I would describe it in three words: professional, clear, and well-organized. Hoogerwerf delivers on the promises they make to me and the client. When I work with Hoogerwerf, I know for sure that the project will be a success, and I therefore trust the entire Hoogerwerf team with my clients !
